Mental Health Development
At NTN, in addition to stress screening, all employees meet with an industrial consultant once a year to work on preventing mental health problems. Through measures such as mental health training at the time of entry and promotion, and the installation of counselling rooms, the ratio of people with high stress levels has been maintained at a level below the all-Japan benchmark of 10%. In addition, in order to promote frontline care*, frontline care training will be held annually from 2021 for all managers, including domestic affiliates. *First-line care: A mental health countermeasure that supports the mental health of subordinates, mainly by supervisors or management supervisors in the workplace.

Physical health building
The company encourages in-house sports clubs and has been recognised as a ‘Sports Supporting Company’ by the Japan Sports Agency for six consecutive years as a company that actively supports sports activities for its employees. In addition, as a measure to address passive smoking, the Company has been actively implementing smoking cessation campaigns, such as subsidising a portion of the cost of smoking cessation aids for those who are challenged to quit smoking, as well as NTN Quit Day for all employees.

Activities to promote healthy management at client companies
We are working to promote healthy management by holding joint seminars between employees of client companies and our own employees. In addition, we hold ‘remote disaster prevention seminars’ where employees learn about preparations for natural disasters such as typhoons and rainstorms, as well as about first aid (CPR, AED) and BCP in the event of an injury.

Equipped with gyms and fitness equipment, employees are encouraged to take advantage of work breaks to exercise. Organising sports games, badminton clubs, etc. emphasises teamwork and competitive spirit, encouraging everyone to maintain physical and mental health.

Mental Health Support
All NTN China subsidiaries/branches have set up psychological counselling windows to help employees relieve work pressure and improve mental toughness. At the same time, personal information is kept strictly confidential, and workplace violence and sexual harassment are strictly prevented and controlled.
